There are a few interesting plot threads, including: conflicts between the characters over which of the performances they perform in various clubs are art and which are pornography, but these interesting moments are quickly cut off in favor of sentimental and trivial scenes like Pamela dancing on the street in Las Vegas. I did not like Jamie Lee Curtis in this one, who acts as if she is in a completely different film than the others. The plot is quite predictable – we know how the conflicts between the characters will be resolved and that some elements introduced at the beginning will return at the end.

You’ll probably watch it and forget about it right after

I think it was supposed to be part of the artistic vision, but it was done so clumsily and inconsistently that it seemed more like an accident. But at least "The Last Showgirl" is only 1 hour and 25 minutes long, so it’s not a grueling experience.

Arcane tells the story of two young orphaned sisters growing up and getting into trouble in the twin cities of Zaun and Piltover. The series is based on the video game League of Legends, and while it drops you right into that fictional world, the time and care required is taken to create the locations and characters in a commendable no-nonsense fashion. The solid character development and world-building means that this is a thoroughly enjoyable watch without knowing anything about the game. The animation is just about perfect.

There’s incredible attention to detail

As an anime fan, I found the animation in Arcane to be far superior to anything I’ve ever seen in an animated series. It’s clear that no artistic talent or financial expense was spared in bringing the world of Runeterra to life. A great soundtrack, great acting, and a gripping story that doesn’t offend any of the violence and more adult themes. Only the first three episodes have been released so far, and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!

it didn’t seem to care about any of the characters, even though they did address some of the issues

It’s a very slow burn, but my rating isn’t based solely on that, but overall it’s not a good or bad series. You just.

The series was cliché & there were no ambiguous parts, plot holes that left you feeling dissatisfied

At one point it felt like it wanted to be a comedy (or dry comedy) about selling a house, then it shifted into something else. The cast was okay, but maybe it was the script or the director that didn’t bring a stronger story to the screen in places.

The twist within a twist the last few episodes were actually good

Not a series you can watch again, but it’s enough to watch once… "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.

I recently watched Babygirl and I have to say that it is one of the most unique and daring thrillers I have seen in a while.

First, the visuals are stunning

Directed by Halina Raine, the film delves deep into the complexities of human desire and power dynamics, wrapped in an intense, almost suffocating atmosphere. Jasper Wolfe’s cinematography captures the raw emotion of each scene, blending light and shadow to create a dark, almost dreamlike world. There’s a constant sense of tension, as if something explosive is always on the verge of happening, and the pacing keeps you on edge the entire time.

However, Babygirl isn’t for everyone

Nicole Kidman delivers an incredible performance, bringing a mix of vulnerability and cold calculation to her character. The supporting cast, while lesser-known, also does a great job of adding depth and unpredictability to the story. Without giving too much away, the film’s exploration of psychological control and submission feels both disturbing and mesmerizing.

Its erotic elements are tastefully done, but may feel uncomfortable or contradictory to some viewers

The plot feels intentionally vague at times, forcing you to piece together the characters’ motivations, which I found intriguing but could be frustrating for others. Overall, if you’re into psychological thrillers that don’t shy away from taboo subjects or push boundaries, Babygirl is definitely worth a watch. It’s captivating, stylish, and will keep you thinking about it long after the credits roll.
