Amid the bitter conflict between the cities of Piltover and Zaun, two sisters fight on opposing sides in a war between magical technology and opposing beliefs. Check out the actors behind some of your favorite animated films and series, including Elly Purnell in “Arcane.” ;. Fortiche Productions filmed a music video for “Get Jinxed” for Riot in 2013. Riot was so impressed with the work that they asked Fortiche to create an animated series that took them several years to complete.

Arcane tells the story of two young orphaned sisters growing up and getting into trouble in the twin cities of Zaun and Piltover. The series is based on the video game League of Legends, and while it drops you right into that fictional world, the time and care required is taken to create the locations and characters in a commendable no-nonsense fashion. The solid character development and world-building means that this is a thoroughly enjoyable watch without knowing anything about the game. The animation is just about perfect.
There’s incredible attention to detail
As an anime fan, I found the animation in Arcane to be far superior to anything I’ve ever seen in an animated series. It’s clear that no artistic talent or financial expense was spared in bringing the world of Runeterra to life. A great soundtrack, great acting, and a gripping story that doesn’t offend any of the violence and more adult themes. Only the first three episodes have been released so far, and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!
